"Facts require comprehension, meaning requires apprehension"
Critical thought neccesarily engages with epistemology and because of this - it intersects with cultural understandings of knowing and being. There has been much written and discussed about the notions of "culturally intelligent design" in all its nuances - but mostly from the standpoint of inclusion and access. However, knowing how people know - and learn - is critical to the future of Higher Education in general due to increasing demands for quality online education globally. If the US is to continue its long tradition of being the "go to" destination for International students - then re-thinking how to create culturally intelligent online classroom spaces is critical.
